47th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Parade
The City of Winter Haven and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Parade Commission proudly invite the community to attend the 47th Annual Winter Haven Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Parade on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Celebrating nearly five decades of tradition, this annual parade honors the life, legacy, and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. What began in 1979 as a peaceful walk through the streets of Winter Haven has grown into a vibrant and inspiring celebration of unity, culture, and community pride.
The 2026 parade theme, “Mission Possible II: Building Community, Uniting a Nation the Nonviolent Way,” reflects Dr. King’s enduring message of service, justice, and nonviolent action. Local organizations, schools, churches, businesses, civic groups, and community members will come together in a colorful procession featuring floats, walking groups, vehicles, and performances that uplift and inspire.
Spectators of all ages are encouraged to line the parade route and join in this meaningful community celebration as Winter Haven continues the mission of honoring Dr. King’s dream and strengthening bonds across our community.
For those interested in participating, parade entries are welcomed and encouraged, with applications required in advance. The parade is proudly sponsored by the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Parade Commission in partnership with the City of Winter Haven.
